Marcus and Kirsty married at Marcus’ beautiful farmhouse home looking over the rolling hills of Devon. Kirsty wanted wild and natural arrangements with a dusty pink and grey palette. Amongst the flowers used were Dahlia ‘Cafe au Lait’ from our cutting garden and beautiful David Austin ‘Cafe Latte’ blended with delicate textures coming through with Astilbe, Astrantia and Scabious, all the flowers used were seasonal English flowers.

As trendy London weddings go this one was up there. Charlie and Sam married in Islington Town Hall and held their reception in the Metalworks, Islington. The Metalworks has it’s very own distinctive and quirky style, never phased by a challenge, I relished the opportunity to work in such a unique venue, it was such fun!

Our evening class at Kite Studios was a huge success with a room full of budding amateur florists showing true talent and untold amounts of enthusiasm in creating a table centrepiece. We used as many seasonal flowers and foliages as possible such as hellebores and berried ivy, both of which are commonly grown in the garden and are perfect for cutting and using in arrangements.

In early spring there are some special flowers that are worth celebrating and one of my favourite of all is the divine Hellebore. I’m not sure why I love Hellebore so much, perhaps it’s because they come so early bringing much needed colour and beauty to the garden, but undoubtedly I love them for their delicate form.
